A Winter of Love | Gull Lake, Alberta

There are forever beautiful moments that photographers capture everyday.  There are literally millions of us working each day to help share and embrace the moments created by you, our dear and loving customers that show moments of love, purity, respect, fun and enjoyment.  This very special mini session was no exception in Gull Lake, Alberta between two people that love each other very much and are beside each other no matter what through their journey of life.

I always enjoy having a chance to capture two people in love, but who are long married with kids.  It is always refreshing to watch two people looking lovingly at each other and you can see clearly the spark is still there.  I happen to know this lovely couple and know that they have twins and a slightly older child as well.  I know first hand how draining and exhausting having multiples is and the strain it can place on a marriage – or any partnership really.  It’s a constant struggle meeting the needs of your tiny army and rarely feeling like you actually are. No one ever seems happy, the kids having playmates and/or mortal enemies 24/7 and the general mood most days are driven by ‘hangry‘ toddlers.

All of of this plus the pressures of a mixed economy but they still continue to smile and enjoy every aspect of each other on this super chilly day back in December – right before Christmas.  I find few things as beautiful as seasonal change…although the Snirt (snow/dirt mix) in Spring time in Alberta is not very esthetically pleasing.  I feel that Alberta is a beautiful province to live in as we have ample scenery such as the Rocky Mountains, a multitude of lakes and water sheds as well as an endless amount of pastoral fields that make for simply stunning backdrops.
